Join us for a riveting exploration of the firearms used throughout the history of organized crime and the law, with Ashley Hlebinsky, Robert W. Woodruff Curator of the Cody Firearms Museum at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West.

Hlebinsky will discuss:

• Specific firearms used, from the Thompson submachine gun which epitomized the Mob wars of Prohibition to handguns used by lawmen and Mob hitmen.
• The story of organized crime’s inextricable relationship to guns, and police officers’ use of them to stop criminals.
• The features and uses of several firearms from The Mob Museum’s collection, along with a presentation.

Ashley Hlebinsky

Ashley Hlebinsky is the Robert W. Woodruff Curator of the Cody Firearms Museum at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, Wyoming. She has a master’s degree in American history and museum studies from the University of Delaware, where she studied the perception of firearms in culture. Hlebinsky spent three years researching in the Smithsonian Institution’s National Firearms Collection. She is also a freelance writer and has appeared on both national and international television networks, as well as being an NRA Certified Instructor.
