In this Organized Crime Today Videoconference program, Florida-based Mob historian Scott Deitche discusses the fascinating story of when the Mob set up shop in Havana, Cuba, in the 1950s and turned the Caribbean island into a gambling mecca rivaling Las Vegas. He will discuss the fateful 1946 Mob conference in Havana, the Mob’s downfall in Cuba and the Mob’s role in CIA efforts to assassinate Fidel Castro. Finally, he will provide a fresh look at the Mob’s legacies in Cuba today.
