Author Neil Gordon will tell the story of Chicago Outfit boss Tony Accardo, also known as “Joe Batters.” Accardo got his start under Al Capone and eventually became the boss for several decades. Although not widely known, Accardo was regarded as one of the most powerful and effective Mob bosses in history. Gordon draws connections between Accardo and Las Vegas, and provides insights into Accardo’s brutal history of retribution and his ultimate downfall.
