Al Capone is the most infamous mobster of all time. Seemingly every aspect of his life has been explored in print and film. But there’s more to the story. Capone’s eldest living granddaughter, Diane, has published a memoir based on her personal memories and stories told by her grandmother, Mae, and other relatives. It provides a unique window into the private life of Capone, who was both a brutal crime boss as a young man and a generous and devoted family patriarch in his final years.
