Andrew Walsh is the Undersheriff with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Originally from Staten Island, New York, he began his law enforcement career in New York City as a member of the New York City Police Department.

Walsh has held a variety of assignments throughout his career, including Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Academy Staff Member, Public Information Officer, Internal Affairs Lieutenant, Captain of Downtown Area Command, Deputy Chief of Tourist Safety and Homeland Security Divisions. He previously served as an Assistant Sheriff.

As the Assistant Sheriff, he directly supervised deputy chiefs and Counsel for Labor Relations; coordinated their work; identified training needs; participated in the development of strategic plans; developed and oversaw the implementation of goals, objectives, policies and procedures; served as team leader for complex, multi-year projects; worked with legal advisors to ensure operations are ethical and legal; served as department liaison with heads of other law-enforcement agencies, other jurisdictions, business and labor.

Walsh holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration, and he is a member of the International Association of the Chiefs of Police and the Police Executive Research Forum.

Andrew is married to his wife Janeen and they have one daughter, Emma. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family, running, and reading leadership books and crime novels.
