THE MOB MUSEUM ANNOUNCES 2016 COMMUNITY SAFETY FORUM CALENDAR

Events Sponsored by NV Energy and Held in Partnership with LVMPD, Other Area Law Enforcement Agencies

LAS VEGAS (December 2015) – The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, announces its 2016 Community Safety Forum calendar. Forums will be held the third Sunday of the month from 2 to 3 p.m.

Community Safety Forums, which are part of the Museum’s ongoing commitment to present timely and useful programming for the benefit of the community, are sponsored by NV Energy and are FREE and open to the public. Also, thanks to NV Energy’s generous support, attendance at a Community Safety Forum presentation includes FREE general admission to the Museum following the presentation as well as livestreaming of the event.

Upcoming Community Safety Forum dates and topics include:

  • January 17: Distracted Driving and Accident Prevention

Officers from Metro’s Traffic Section will discuss their role in accident prevention and provide tips and tools for safe driving.

  • February 21: The Active Shooter

Officers from the MACTAC unit educate on topics ranging from active shooter awareness, to incident response and workplace violence. As they will explain, in many cases, there is no pattern or method to the selection of victims by an active shooter. Such situations are usually unpredictable and can evolve quickly.

  • March 20: The Ins and Outs of the Clark County District Attorney’s Office

Representatives will present an overview of every division of this office and the respective roles and duties of each, with a special emphasis on the criminal unit. Attendees will learn about the progression of a criminal case from arrest to post-conviction procedures.
